“Liberty Head” – an American icon. This iconic Peter Max painting originated from his work to save the Statue of Liberty. From there he created a series that generated enough funding to restore the American landmark.

It is professionally framed with a black lacquer outer frame and has a triple matting technique where the middle mat is hand painted to accentuate the paints and colors used at the four sides of the painting. Two of the mats are made of cream linen mat. As you can see, this is one of the better pieces that Peter Max has painting despite his practice to paint many different types of Liberty.
